Welcome!! I’m Katie!

Some of you may know me from Living the First Grade Dream. After taking some time away from writing to start a family, it’s finally time to get back in. I decided I need a new name that better aligned with what I love to do. So here I am, starting fresh as The Organized Reading Teacher.

This upcoming school year will be my 14th year teaching. I have been a 4th-grade teacher, 1st-grade teacher, Title I reading teacher, and now I am a resource teacher. I love all things reading and through my years of teaching I have found incredible strategies to help struggling readers succeed and I can’t wait to share these with you. I also love all things organization. I will show you tips and tricks for keeping your classroom and materials organized. My goal is to create and share information to help you support those struggling readers in your classroom while helping you get organized along the way.
